Granada Court

686 Union St.

Pasadena, CA 91101

A European courtyard-style project at Union Street and Oak Knoll, one block north of Colorado. Each unit faces both the exterior of the building and one of the two interior quiet courtyards. The courtyards are graciously landscaped and separated by an oft-used community library and meeting room. The larger patio has an outdoor fireplace and seating area adjacent to the library. A third patio includes a community barbecue and picnic area. Granada won the Pasadena Beautiful award for most outstanding new building in Pasadena in 2007.

The Andalucia abuts both Vroman’s Bookstore and the Laemmle’s Theater, stretching along El Molino to Union Street. The buildings host a wide range of rental units from studios to large townhomes, as well 9,000 square feet of retail shops along the ground floor. A gym, community room, loggia, two rooftop decks and three courtyard areas provide tenants multiple options for enjoying a respite from the busy streets and passageways. Designed by Mill Creek and built with the Mack Real Estate Group as Mill Creek’s partner.

Brantwood

88 N. Oakland Ave.

Pasadena, CA 91101

Brantwood is aptly named for John Ruskin’s retirement home in England’s Lake District. The building is palazzo in style, a favorite Ruskin architectural subject, and arts-oriented and club-like in its interiors and programs. Located at Union and Oakland, Brantwood has 55 age-restricted units on the second to sixth floors and a restaurant and a cafe on the ground floor. The ground level also includes 7,000 square feet of community space: two courtyards, a living room-like lobby, a bar and library. Tenants have a high level of assistance and service, including visits to museums, galleries and regular speakers, much like a 19th century athenaeum.

Easton House

Pasadena, CA 91101

The Easton is an elegant smaller building with 11,000 square feet of commercial office space on its first two floors and five large luxury rental units on the three floors above, including a penthouse. It sits along Union across from the Brantwood and looks over the Fuller campus historic homes and open space, also with vistas of City Hall and the mountains. Each of the apartments has a large outdoor terrace. Residents are able to utilize the amenity rooms of the adjacent Catalonia, and if over 55 in age, also use the amenities of Brantwood Court. Two floors of subterranean parking.

The buildings surround two landscaped courtyards anchored by a community room, a library and a gym. Residents also have a south-facing 4,000-square-foot rooftop deck garden and pool, with views of City Hall, Brantwood Court, Easton House and the mountains.
